Job Summary
Job Title: Surgical Technologist Adult Surgical/Operating Room
Location: Syracuse NY
Assignment Type: Travel Contract
Duration: 14 Weeks
Shift:Combination of 8-hour and 12-hour shifts
Shift Times: 07:0015:30 11:0019:30 15:0023:30 07:0019:30 11:0023:30
Schedule: 80 hours per two-week pay period
Weekend/Holiday: As scheduled per facility rotation
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Surgical Technologist for an Evening Shift travel contract in a high-acuity hospital operating room. The ideal candidate will be skilled in multiple surgical specialties and demonstrate strong clinical knowledge adaptability and professionalism in a fast-paced surgical environment.
Key Responsibilities
Assist surgeons and surgical teams during operative procedures maintaining a sterile environment.
Prepare and organize instruments equipment and supplies before and during surgery.
Ensure proper handling and labeling of specimens.
Anticipate the needs of the surgical team to support safe efficient procedures.
Maintain accurate counts of sponges needles and instruments.
Collaborate effectively with nurses anesthesiologists and other surgical staff to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Adhere to hospital safety infection control and quality standards.
Qualifications
Certification: Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) required.
Experience: Minimum 2 years of recent surgical/OR experience in an acute care hospital setting.
Skills Required:
Experience with Trauma Orthopedic General Surgery ENT Vascular and Gynecology cases.
Licensure: Must meet all state and facility-specific licensing and credentialing requirements.
Other:
Strong knowledge of sterile technique and surgical instrumentation.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Must successfully pass health clearance background check and drug screening.
Shift & Schedule Details
Shift Types: Combination of 8-hour and 12-hour shifts
Shift Times: 07:0015:30 11:0019:30 15:0023:30 07:0019:30 11:0023:30
Schedule: 80 hours per two-week pay period
Weekend/Holiday: As scheduled per facility rotation

Flexibility: Must be able to work assigned shifts based on surgical case needs.
