General Description/Primary Purpose:

The Department of Physical Therapy is seeking a 12-month non-tenure earning Clinical Assistant Professor to serve as the Assistant Director of Clinical Education (ADCE) in the Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) Program. Position responsibilities include teaching service and scholarship. The ADCE will support the Director of Clinical Education in planning coordinating facilitating administering and monitoring clinical education activities in alignment with Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education (CAPTE) standards and American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) guidelines. Teaching will be aligned in areas of expertise and departmental needs.

Supervisor: This position will report to the Department Chair Dr. Sherry Pinkstaff.

Supervision Exercised: Yes

Required Licensure: Current physical therapy license or eligibility for licensure in the state of Florida.

Anticipated Start Date: This position is expected to begin on August 3 2026.

Required Qualifications:

  • Earned Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree

  • Minimum of 3 years of clinical experience

  • APTA Credentialed Clinical Instructor (Level I)

  • Evidence of teaching experience in a CAPTE-accredited DPT program

  • Strong communication organization interpersonal problem-solving and counseling skills

  • Current knowledge and skill in the use of information/computer technology software or platforms for clinical education administration

Preferred Qualifications / Skills:

  • Level II Clinical Instructor

  • Experience in clinical education leadership or administration such as Assistant Director of Clinical Education (ADCE) or Site Coordinator of Clinical Education (SCCE)

  • Experience with EXXAT Prism

  • The American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties (ABPTS) Board Certification

  • Clinical experience across multiple/diverse settings

  • Evidence of scholarly activity

  • Active involvement in professional organizations at the state or national level
