Basic Job Functions:
Nucor Steel-Hertford County is seeking candidates for the position of Shift Mold Segment Mechanic. The successful candidate will assist with area housekeeping/safety efforts and be part of a rotating shift crew that performs maintenance on repairs and improves the Caster Molds and Segments as well as support the maintenance departments goals NSHC Big 3 and the overall operation of the steel making is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate lead and uphold safety policies practices procedures and housekeeping standards at all times.
Minimum Qualifications:
- 2 years of mechanical maintenance experience or relevant technical degree
Preferred Qualifications:
- Heavy industrial maintenance experience
- Knowledge of the casting process and/or steel making
- Skilled in welding and fabrication
