Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) Emergency Department (Day Shift)
Location: Syracuse NY
Assignment Type: Travel Contract
Duration: 14 Weeks
Shift: Day Shift 7:00 AM 7:30 PM 12-hour shifts 3 shifts per week
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced and adaptable Emergency Department Registered Nurse (RN) to join a fast-paced hospital environment. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality patient care to both adult and pediatric populations within a Level 1 or Level 2 trauma setting. Key Responsibilities
Provide direct and comprehensive emergency care to adult and pediatric patients.
Perform detailed assessments administer medications and manage patient care in coordination with physicians and interdisciplinary teams.
Float as needed to Pediatric ED or other affiliated emergency departments across campuses.
Ensure accurate documentation using electronic medical record systems.
Maintain compliance with all hospital safety infection control and quality standards.
Participate in patient and family education and provide emotional support during high-stress situations.
Qualifications
License: Active RN license in the State of New York (or compact state eligibility).
Experience: Minimum 1.5 years of recent acute care experience in a comparable facility (Level 1 or Level 2 trauma preferred).
Certifications: Current BLS certification required; must be eligible for recertification as needed.
Preferred Skills: Experience with EPIC EMR system and prior trauma or emergency department experience.
Excellent communication teamwork and crisis management skills.
Must have a clear professional recordno prior license suspensions investigations or liability claims.
Must pass health screening background check and drug screening prior to employment.
Schedule & Shift Details
Shift: Day Shift 7:00 AM 7:30 PM
Hours per Week: 36
Rotation: Every other weekend and select holidays required
Floating: Between adult and pediatric emergency departments as needed
