Job Summary
Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) Med/Surg/Telemetry (Night Shift)
Location: Syracuse NY
Assignment Type: Travel Contract
Duration: 14 Weeks
Shift: Night Shift 12-hour shifts 3 shifts per week 36 hours per week
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Registered Nurse (RN) for a Medical-Surgical/Telemetry Night Shift travel assignment in a high-acuity hospital environment. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in adult med/surg care telemetry monitoring and strong IV/lab skills.
Key Responsibilities
Provide comprehensive nursing care for adult patients on med/surg and telemetry units.
Start IVs draw blood samples and monitor cardiac telemetry.
Perform assessments administer medications and implement care plans as directed.
Collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Adhere to hospital policies infection control standards and safety regulations.
Participate in shift handoffs and maintain accurate documentation within the EMR system.
Qualifications
License: Active RN license in the State of New York (or compact state eligibility).
Experience: Minimum 1.52 years of recent experience (within past 2 years) in an acute care setting of similar size and acuity.
Certifications:
BLS (Basic Life Support) must be current or eligible for renewal.
Preferred Skills:
Experience in Level 1 or Level 2 Trauma facilities.
EPIC EMR proficiency.
Other Requirements:
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
No history of license suspension or investigation.
Must successfully pass pre-employment health clearance background and drug screening.
Shift & Schedule Details
Shift: Night Shift (12-hour shifts)
Hours per Week: 36
Rotation: Every other weekend and 2 of 3 major seasonal holidays required.
Flexibility: Excessive time off and fixed scheduling requests cannot be accommodated.
