Job Summary
The Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai affiliated with New York City Health and Hospitals/Elmhurst has an exciting opportunity for a House Physician with experience in Cardiology or Critical Care to join our CICU team and provide care in our 9 bed CICU and 6 bed Cardiac stepdown unit. This is a nocturnal only hospital is easily accessible by public transportation and car from all areas of New York City New Jersey and Long Island.
Responsibilities
- Provide advanced care for patients with acute cardiac conditions including ACS cardiogenic shock arrhythmia advanced heart failure post-MI care under the supervision of an attending cardiologist.
- Perform and document comprehensive history and physical examinations.
- Order interpret and act on diagnostic studies and laboratory tests.
- Perform ICU procedures (central venous catheter placement arterial line placement etc.) as credentialed.
- Participate in multidisciplinary care planning.
- Collaborate with cardiology fellows residents nurses and ancillary staff.
- Support quality improvement education and research activities within the CICU.
- Provide patient/family education and discharge planning.
Qualifications
- MD/DO degree
- Boardcertified/eligible in Internal Medicine
- Valid New York State License DEA and Medicaid number
- Fluency in Spanish is a plus
Compensation range from 84k to 84k (not including bonuses / incentive compensation or benefits).
