Key Responsibilities
- Interview Review and analyse technical project documentation to identify eligible R&D activities and qualifying expenditure.
- Draft clear concise and technically accurate R&D reports and supporting documentation for submission
- Provide strategic advice on maximizing R&D tax incentives and identifying new opportunities for claims.
- Liaise directly with internal and external stakeholders (including C-suite finance and technical teams) to gather technical and financial information required for robust R&D claims.
- Lead and mentor a team of technologists and/or R&D Consultants providing guidance support and professional development opportunities.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of changes in R&D tax legislation and best practice and communicate these to internal teams.
- Lead and manage the preparation and submission of R&D tax credit claims for clients in the UK and Ireland ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and HMRC/Revenue guidelines.
- Support business development activities and M&A.
- Manage multiple client projects simultaneously ensuring timely delivery and high-quality service.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (tax audit advisory) to deliver integrated solutions.
- Ensure all files and documentation are maintained in accordance with internal quality standards and regulatory requirements.
- Review and interpret contracts to ensure eligibility and compliance for R&D tax claims.
- Contribute to internal process improvement initiatives including automation and knowledge sharing.
- Participate in regular team meetings training sessions and continuous professional development activities.
Qualifications :
- Strong technical writing and analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex legislation and explain it clearly to clients.
- 510 years experience in R&D tax advisory with a strong track record of successful claims in the UK and/or Irish markets.
- Experience working with or for professional services firms (e.g. BDO EY Deloitte PWC KPMG or similar).
- Business-level English proficiency with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated experience in leading and developing teams of technologists or R&D Consultants.
- Experience in reviewing and interpreting contracts relevant to R&D tax claims.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with experience managing client relationships.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Commitment to continuous professional development and evidence of ongoing training/learning as required by professional associations.
- Experience with process automation data analysis or workflow tools (e.g. Power BI ServiceNow or similar) is desirable but not essential.
- Strong project management skills and a proactive solutions-oriented mindset.
