Overview
We are currently seeking amotivated and detail-oriented Accounting Assistantto support our finance team. This role involves key responsibilities such as:
- Managing day-to-day accounting operations
- Performing data entry and account reconciliations
- Handling accounts payable and receivable
- Assisting with financial reporting
This is an excellent opportunity for arecent graduate or early-career professionalto gain hands-on experience and grow within a collaborative and supportive environment.
Fixed-term 6-month role must be a Canadian citizen.
Responsibilities
- Perform day-to-day financial transactions including Accounts Payable Receivables Invoicing and posting General Leger transactions.
- Maintain supporting schedule prepaid expenses reconciliation (CAD & USD)
- Review AR (invoices and collections); process AP (vendor invoices & POs)
- Verify invoice accuracy; manage collections and vendor setup; Support Vendor / Customer queries
- Post recurring entries: depreciation and amortization bonuses payroll and expense reports
- Reconcile bank accounts
- Prepare and review monthly deliverables including trial balance EBITDA and other standard month-end reports.
- Prepare and review monthly and quarterly compliance deliverables including Prepare and remit GST / HST / QST tax filings Preparing and posting Federal & Provincial tax payments
- Support Management with month end support.
- Process CAPEX-related POs and expenses in D365 F&O
- Support audits tax requests and integration
Skills / Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience in full-cycle accounting within a service orientated environment
- Solid understanding of Canadian accounting practices
- Proficient in handling GST/HST/QST for Ontario and Quebec
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office; experience with Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations (D365 FO) is a significant asset
- Excellent communication skills and keen attention to detail
- Positive attitude with a collaborate team focused mindset
- Must be a Canadian citizen
