Hume Riverina Community Legal Service (HRCLS) is a service of Upper Murray Family Care (UMFC). HRCLS is a generalist place-based cross-border community legal centre improving access to justice in the regional communities of 17 local government areas across North East Victoria and the Southern Riverina of New South Wales. For more than 25 years HRCLS has been advancing fairness in the legal system through the strategic provision of trauma-informed person-centred legal assistance community legal education and advocacy and law reform to address systemic barriers to justice.
About the Role
HRCLS is seeking a committed and values-driven Lawyer to join the Family Law and Family Violence Practice to provide high-quality trauma-informed legal assistance with a focus on supporting victim-survivors and people at risk of domestic and family violence across the Southern Riverina of New South Wales.

Eligibility to hold a practising certificate in Victoria.
A commitment to working with clients experiencing complex and multiple needs including those affected by trauma family violence or mental health challenges.
Proven ability to work collaboratively in a respectful and supportive team environment.
Strong understanding of integrated service delivery and stakeholder management.
Excellent communication skills including the ability to explain complex legal concepts in accessible ways.
High-level computer literacy including MS Office and client management systems.
Experience in civil law (e.g. tenancy fines consumer credit and debt insurance) and/or family law and family violence.
Experience providing representation in the Magistrates Court of Victoria and/or the Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia.
