- A graduate degree from an accredited university in the field of criminal justice law public administration education behavioral sciences or a related field is preferred.
- Some supervisory/administrative experience in the field of residential programming community corrections counseling human services protective services etc. is required.
- Experienced in DRC and ACA audits is preferred.
- Certification as a Certified Chemical Dependency Counselor or general counseling certification granted through the State of Ohio is desirable.
- LEADS certified or ability to become in 6 months
- Employment is at the will of the Executive Director.
Job Duties (Summary): - Manages daily operations of the facility in accordance with approved policies and procedures.
- Coordinates and reviews all client related services and oversees meetings.
- Coordinates client services with other agencies.
- Plans program and staff development.
- Prepares reports on programs assigned.
- Serves as a liaison to other programs agencies and the community.
- Oversees program intake process and utilization rate.
- Oversees Quality Assurance issues.
- Evaluates organizational effectiveness on an on-going basis.
- Assists Executive Director in recruiting selecting and overseeing the hiring of qualified personnel.
- Takes disciplinary action whenever necessary to ensure the effectiveness and integrity of the program.
- Mandates training requirements and performance standards for all staff members.
- Attends community meetings and functions in support of the facility.
- Trains supervises and evaluates assigned personnel in the performance of their duties.
- Assesses and plans for future needs of the correctional center.
- Recommends modifications of policies and procedures and operations to the Executive Director.
- Assists the Executive Director in the development of the annual budget.
- Maintains strict confidentiality with respect to information obtained and processed in the operation of the facility.
- Responds in person when required to any problems and/or emergencies at the facility in a timely manner.

- Knowledge of management and supervision of a residential correctional facility.
- Knowledge of criminal justice and community corrections systems.
- Knowledge of behavioral sciences.
- Knowledge of fiscal administration.
- Ability to interview and counsel.
- Ability to supervise and manage.
- Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with agencies supervisors associates residents and the general public.
- Skills in oral and written communication.
- Knowledge of minimum security facility needs.
- Knowledge of prison crowding diversion programs and issues.
- Ability to perform research.
- Knowledge of computer capabilities/terminology.
- Knowledge of legal liability issues.
- Knowledge of probation and parole.
- Ability to remain calm in tense situations.
- Ability to delegate authority and responsibility.
- Visual ability sufficient to effectively operate office equipment including calculator copier facsimile machine and computer.
- Ability to read and prepare reports with recommendations correspondence instructions policies and procedures.
- Hearing ability sufficient to hold conversation with other individuals both in person and over a telephone and to hear recordings on a Dictaphone.
- Speaking ability sufficient to communicate effectively with other individuals in person and over a telephone.
Working Conditions Correctional Center setting moderate noise.
