As a Software Engineer III at JPMorgan Chase within the Corporate Technology organization you will be a seasoned member of an agile team tasked with designing and delivering trusted market-leading technology products in a secure stable and scalable manner. You will be responsible for implementing critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas supporting various business functions to achieve the firms business objectives.
Job responsibilities
- Executes software solutions design development and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problems
- Creates secure and high-quality production code and maintains algorithms that run synchronously with appropriate systems
- Designs develops codes and troubleshoots with consideration of upstream and downstream systems and technical implications
- Designs implements and manages AWS infrastructure to support scalable and reliable applications.
- Monitors system performance and troubleshoot issues using tools like Splunk Dynatrace and Grafana.
- Applies technical troubleshooting to break down solutions and solve technical problems of basic/intermediate complexity
- Gathers analyzes synthesizes and develops visualizations and reporting from large diverse data sets in service of continuous improvement of software applications and systems
- Proactively identifies hidden problems and patterns in data and uses these insights to drive improvements to coding hygiene and system architecture
- Contributes to software engineering communities of practice and events that explore new and emerging technologies
- Adds to team culture of diversity opportunity inclusion and respect
Required qualifications capabilities and skills
- Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 3 years applied experience
- Hands-on practical experience in system design application development testing and operational stability
- Proficiency in software development processes including DBX framework and Agile methodologies
- Emerging knowledge of software applications and technical processes within a technical discipline (e.g. cloud artificial intelligence machine learning mobile etc.)
- Experience with Databricks and AWS infrastructure
- Hands-on experience in programming languages such as Java and Python and Big Data technologies including Spark/Kafka
- Proficiency in data processing frameworks and tools including Parquet Iceberg PySpark Glue Lambda Databricks and AWS data services like EMR Athena and Redshift
- Experience with data integration ETL processes and data warehousing
- Expertise with CI/CD such as Jenkins Spinnaker Terraform
- Exposure to relational database such as Oracle and understanding of SQL/PL-SQL code
Preferred qualifications capabilities and skills
- AWS Google or Azure certification
- Databricks Certified Data Engineer or equivalent
- Knowledge of DevOps practices CI/CD pipelines and containerization (Docker/Kubernetes)
