    JOB SUMMARY:
    Under general supervision performs a variety of instructional and clerical tasks in assisting a teacher. Tutors may perform a wide range of tasks to support the efforts of the teacher meet the needs of multilingual learners and ensure the provision of high quality instruction for multilingual learners. The tutor provides assistance with linguistic academicand socio-cultural needs.

    Qualifications:
    1. High School diploma with passing score on ParaProfessional Assessment 48 college credits or an Associates degree.
    2. Must have good oral and written communication skills.
    3. Demonstrate an understanding patient and receptive attitude toward students of varied age groups particularly those exhibiting multilingual needs.
    4. Appropriately manage student behavior and guide students toward more acceptable social behaviors.
    5. Understand and carry out oral and written directions.
    6. Ability to maintain confidentiality.
    7. Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with children and adults.
    8. The ability to speak Spanish is preferred but not required.
    Responsibilities:
    1. Assists teachers in academic or language instruction for multilingual learners according to WIDA standards.
    2. Assists teachers in supporting cultural adaptations for multilingual learners.
    3. Provide supplemental instruction to multilingual learners under the direction of the classroom or ESL teacher.
    4. Collaborate with identified individuals (e.g. classroom teacher school counselor ML teacher administrator) to support multilingual students in order to be successful in the school environment.
    5. Assist teachers in observing and collecting data on students. Discuss observations/progress of students with instructional staff.
    6. Use established reinforcement techniques and appropriate discipline in responding to students behavior.
    7. Other duties as assigned.
    PAY RATE: $21.30/hour **This is a part time non benefited position. Hours are not to exceed 29 per week**
