Summary:

The Senior Financial Analyst provides actionable insights that drive financial performance and operational efficiency. Partnering with Controllers and department leaders this role delivers analysis and reporting that support strategic decisions and ensures financial integrity.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead month-end and year-end closing processes ensuring timely preparation of financial statements account and inventory reconciliations and overhead analysis in compliance with accounting standards.
  • Apply in-depth knowledge of manufacturing cost accounting and cost center analysis to ensure accurate product costing and absorption analysis.
  • Identify and analyze financial trends including standard vs. actual cost deviations and order-level outliers to provide actionable recommendations that improve operational and financial performance.
  • Partner with the regional sales team to develop and analyze annual sales plans.
  • Calculate and maintain sales incentive payouts in collaboration with sales managers and HR ensuring accuracy compliance and timely distribution.
  • Maintain up-to-date meaningful KPIs and dashboards to drive business decisions across departments.
  • Compile and analyze financial data; maintain general ledger and fixed assets; support internal and external audits.
  • Participate in forecasting processes providing critical insights and analysis.
  • Prepare ad-hoc reports presentations and financial documentation as needed.
  • Support the Controller on special projects and initiatives.

Requirements:

  • Experience in manufacturing cost accounting and cost center analysis is a plus.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel PowerPoint Outlook); expertise in Excel functions such as Pivot Tables VLOOKUPs and SUMIFS.
  • Experience with JDE SAP or similar ERP systems.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret large data sets and communicate findings effectively.
  • Tech-savvy with a passion for technology and automation projects.
  • Self-starter with a strong sense of ownership and reliability.
  • Ability to challenge the status quo while maintaining a strategic perspective.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong teamwork and collaboration abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment especially during planning and close cycles.
  • Willingness to travel (12 domestic trips and potentially 1 international trip annually).

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance required.
  • 3 or more years of progressive experience in accounting/finance including general ledger and month-end/year-end close.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times
