What is this career opportunity
General Services Division (GSD) is a dynamic agency comprised of Capitol Facilities Maintenance Real Property & Leasing Surplus Property & Recycling and State Print & Mail. GSD Headquarters is seeking a Capitol Complex Site Coordinator to join their central operations team at the direction of the Chief of Operations.
This position is often the voice and face of the Division. Key functions include disseminating service announcements and coordinating logistics that support the publics right to assemble on State grounds while advocating for the long-term stewardship of historic spaces like the Capitol Building. The incumbent is guided by statute policy and procedure and is responsible for engaging GSD staff and stakeholders to provide logistical oversight and facilitate venue management. The ideal Capitol Complex Site Coordinator is a highly organized detail-oriented professional that can adapt to evolving conditions while supporting the divisions situational awareness and logistical management of public areas in GSD-managed State space.

Responsibilities include:
Oversee the physical readiness of venues that public events are hosted in within the Capitol Complex including coordination of equipment and display setup and take down;
Conduct venue walkthroughs with event organizers and necessary staff;
Collaborate with Facilities staff to monitor facility use and address maintenance needs promptly;
Anticipate potential logistical challenges and develop contingency plans diagrams or maps;
Logistical coordination of filming in State space;
Logistical coordination and/or support of GSD-hosted events such as the Recycling Drive and Surplus Property Garage Sales;
Manage all permit requests for events solicitation and drone flights;
Draft edit and disseminate State and public communications including changes to policy service outages or other public service announcements;
Manage content and GSD brand assets for website vehicle decals uniforms etc.;
Maintain good working relationships with vendors and service providers such as equipment rental embroidery and screen printing and catering companies;
Serve as staff support to the Capitol Complex Advisory Council (CCAC);
Be a good steward of State space and assets using the Capitol Complex Master Plan as a guide for adhering to campus standards;
Relevant records management;
Relevant process improvement and documentation;
Monitor customer success and ensure Division compliance with policies procedures and standards
What are we looking for
Education and Experience:
Bachelors degree and 1 years experience in hospitality management or business-related field; OR
Associate degree and 3 years experience in hospitality management or business-related field: OR
Alternate combinations of education and experience will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
