About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced Kotlin Backend Consultant to join a global digital transformation initiative with a leading multinational organization. This role offers the opportunity to work on a large-scale multi-year program focused on building consumer-centric digital platforms and services across multiple markets. As a Backend Consultant you will be responsible for designing developing and optimizing scalable backend solutions using Kotlin and related technologies in a cloud-native environment. Youll collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver robust maintainable and high-performance systems that support business-critical applications.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design develop and maintain backend services using Kotlin (Ktor framework) and Java (Spring Boot Hibernate).
• Architect and implement scalable microservices and serverless solutions on cloud platforms (AWS preferred).
• Build and optimize CI/CD pipelines ensure effective monitoring logging and observability.
• Collaborate with frontend DevOps and product teams to deliver high-quality reliable backend systems.
• Troubleshoot complex production issues and optimize system performance.
• Participate in code reviews architecture discussions and continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements:

• 5 years of experience in Kotlin development.
• 7 years of experience in Java backend development.
• Strong understanding of object-oriented programming design patterns and exception handling.
• Deep knowledge of core APIs including collections streams and concurrency frameworks.
• Hands-on experience with Spring Boot Hibernate and Ktor (3 years ideally).
• Proficiency with cloud platforms (AWS preferred) Docker and Kubernetes.
• Experience designing scalable and resilient systems including APIs and databases.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and monitoring/logging tools (e.g. DataDog).
