About the Role
We are seeking an Expert Software Architect to join a long-term modernization initiative in Albany NY. The project focuses on transforming and integrating legacy mainframe applications into modern architectures improving system quality performance and enterprise data governance.
This is an excellent opportunity for a seasoned professional who can design develop and guide implementation of large-scale software systems using both COBOL and .NET technologies.
Responsibilities
- Analyze business requirements and define technical solutions and data structures.
- Design application specifications for mainframe components.
- Develop and maintain COBOL programs write and optimize JCL scripts.
- Conduct unit and integration testing prepare test documentation and ensure quality delivery.
- Support deployment to production and perform post-implementation validation.
- Collaborate with business and technical teams to ensure alignment with modernization objectives.
Required Qualifications
- 7 years of experience with COBOL CICS and JCL on z/OS (Version 4.2.0/V3.2).
- 7 years of experience with DB2/SQL (Version 10).
- 6 years of experience using Endevor (Version 15/0).
- 7 years of experience with XML (Version 1.0).
- 3 years of experience with Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA).
- 3 years of experience using SoapUI/WSDL (Version 3.5.1).
- 4 years working with government agencies.
- 5 years of experience in Assembler.
- 5 years of experience with CA-Intertest.
- 6 years working with AAMVA Unified Network Interface (UNI).
Preferred Attributes
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and documentation abilities.
- Experience leading or mentoring development teams.
- Familiarity with modernization of legacy government systems.
Work Environment
- Hybrid schedule in Albany NY.
