Cloud Platform Engineer (GCP)

Location: Remote (occasional on-site approx. once per month)

Start Date: ASAP

Duration: Full-time until end of January (extensions likely)

Language: English required German is a plus.

About the Role

We are looking for a skilled Cloud Platform Engineer to support a Google Cloud Platform (GCP) environment. The role involves setting up optimising and securing cloud infrastructure while enabling development teams through best practices and training.

Key Responsibilities

Define repository structure and project setup
Create and manage Terraform workspaces and scripts
Implement compliance and security requirements (Sentinel policies)
Prepare Jira requests related to network and security topics
Set up and configure Pub/Sub including firewall adjustments
Deploy and tune CloudSQL instances
Document and optimise GCP services for performance and scalability
Provide enablement to internal teams (training hands-on sessions playground projects)
Support a proof of concept (PoC) with a Spring Boot sample project

Required Skills & Experience

Proven experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
Pub/Sub CloudSQL CloudRun GKE
Terraform & Sentinel for infrastructure as code and compliance
Docker or Podman for containerisation
Git GitHub GitHub Actions for version control and CI/CD
Java Maven Spring Boot for backend development

Eligibility

Residency in the EU EEC UK or Switzerland.
