Qualifications:

Applicants must be a current undergraduate student and have completed at least their 1st year at a university in a STEM major with interest in working in the technical aspects of imaging or therapy systems used in medicine with the potential to explore further research in graduate studies or a technical career.

Position Summary/Job Duties:

What Youll Do:

Join forces with world-class medical physics faculty to tackle real-world challenges in imaging and therapy. Your daily work will be hands-on and intellectually stimulatingwhether youre developing cutting-edge computational models conducting precision experiments or engineering novel technologies. Interns are matched with leading research labs across a wide range of specialties including:

Biomagnetic Imaging
Computed Tomography (CT)
Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI)
Molecular Imaging & Theranostics
Nuclear Medicine
Optical Systems
Radiation Metrology
Ultrasound & X-ray Technologies
Image-Guided Radiation Therapy

You will also participate in ASSUREs co-curricular enrichment which includes interactive seminars networking opportunities and mentorship focused on science education and career development.

Students accepted into the program will receive a stipend to cover their travel to Madison and a portion of their housing costs. Students will also receive travel funds to attend a conference.

Physical Demands:

Sitting and standing for long periods of time must be able to lift up to 25 pounds.
