The Department of Dental Hygiene at Texas A&M University College of Dentistry is seeking applications for a full-time faculty position (non-tenure track) with an 11-month academic appointment beginning on November 1 2025. Applicants will be considered for the faculty titles of Clinical Assistant Professor Clinical Associate Professor or Clinical Professor depending on qualifications. Responsibilities include supervising first- and second-year undergraduate dental hygiene students in the clinical setting serving as course director for assigned didactic courses and providing guest lectures as needed. Service to the department college university and profession is expected. No set expectations on research but is highly encouraged.
The successful candidate must have the following:
-Bachelor of Science in Dental Hygiene (BSDH) from an accredited dental hygiene program
-Masters or Doctoral degree in dental hygiene or a related field (i.e. public health nutrition sciences medical education).
-An active registered dental hygienist license issued by the Texas State Board of Dental Examiners
-A minimum of five years of clinical experience in private practice proficiency in current powered instrumentation and hand scaling techniques
-Demonstrated clinical teaching skills appropriate for undergraduate dental hygiene education.
Preferred qualifications include: prior experience teaching undergraduate dental hygiene students particularly in the administration of local anesthesia as well as experience in didactic instruction and course direction.
