WaterWastewater Project Engineer – Design & Delivery Lead

Your Impact

• Lead and contribute to water wastewater and water resources projects in Buffalo and throughout the Northeast.
• Prepare and review design calculations engineering drawings specifications and contract documents.
• Develop technical reports and memoranda that inform and guide project decisions.
• Conduct field investigations and site reconnaissance to support design and planning.
• Assist with project management tasks including scope schedule budget tracking and QA/QC compliance.
• Mentor junior engineers and foster a collaborative inclusive team environment.
• Support proposal development cost estimating and project scheduling.
• Prepare project work plans and health and safety documentation.
• Represent AECOM in client meetings and technical presentations.
• Build strong client relationships through direct face-to-face engagement.

Qualifications :

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering with a focus on water wastewater or water resources plus four years of experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
• Proven ability to produce engineering deliverables including reports drawings and specifications.
• Strong technical foundation in civil water wastewater or water resources engineering.

Preferred Qualifications

• 7 years of experience in water/wastewater projects.
• Masters degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license in New York or ability to obtain within 6 months.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Strong organizational skills and a proactive client-focused mindset.
• Demonstrated ability to make independent engineering decisions and lead project components.
