Duties and Responsibilities:
People:
Creates a positive team member experience.
Demonstrates strong written and verbal communication skills displays a positive demeanor and team spirit.
Client relationship and business development responsibilities
May work more independently and autonomously with contractors owners and regulators on projects
Documentation and expert advice to all levels of the process creating a client facing partnership with key regulators
Client:
Increased public-facing representative of Ryan
Works with project design teams to approve work necessary to meet preservation standard
Values:
Higher degree of expertise in all phases of the historic preservation certification process
Oversees the completion of the regulatory filings and amendments as required
Consultative and persuasive with extensive knowledge of the historic preservation process
Read and comprehend architectural plans as they pertain to the historic preservation process
Reviews compliance with state and federal regulations to ensure projects are meet the SOI Standards
Performs other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience:
Minimum of a bachelors degree with strong writing and research capabilities (in History Architectural History Historical Preservation or equivalent preferred)
Minimum four years experience with historic tax credit application projects
Ability to communicate effectively verbally and write persuasive technical arguments
Work experience in comparable federal state or local preservation programs is preferred
Strong organizational skills and initiative working in a fast-paced time sensitive environment
Keen attention to detail
Ability to conduct research both online and in archives
Ability to multi-task and work independently in a deadline-driven and fast-paced environment
Computer Skills:
Technical proficiency in Creative Cloud suite (especially InDesign) to layup photos create maps and photo keys
Certificates and Licenses:
Valid drivers license required.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
-Supervision of Consultants.
-May lead a project team.
Work Environment:
Standard indoor working environment.
Occasional long periods of sitting while working at computer.
Position requires regular interaction with employees and clients both in person and via e-mail and telephone.
Independent travel requirement: 30 to 50%.
