Rate of Pay: 13.26- 16.82 per hour
Summary:
The Payments Assistant supports the Placements & Commissioning team within Children and Families performing a vital administrative and clerical function. This role is responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely processing of payments relating to childrens services placements. The successful candidate will work within a small collaborative team (six members) and will be expected to maintain high levels of accuracy organisation and attention to detail while utilising multiple IT systems daily.
Responsibilities:
- Process and generate payments accurately and in a timely manner for placements and commissioned services within the Children and Families directorate.
- Assist in responding to payment-related queries from internal colleagues providers and other external stakeholders escalating complex issues to the appropriate team member.
- Provide essential clerical and administrative support to the Placements & Commissioning team contributing to the smooth operation of a demanding service area.
- Draft format and manage correspondence spreadsheets and documents using Microsoft Office (Word Excel Outlook).
- Contribute to the positive communication and collaborative environment within the small team sharing knowledge and supporting colleagues.
Essentials:
- Proven administrative or clerical experience in a fast-paced office environment ideally with exposure to financial or payments processing tasks.
- High Organisation & Prioritisation Skills - essential ability to plan manage and prioritise a demanding workload.
- Multi-tasking & System Proficiency - essential ability to quickly learn and competently operate multiple specialist IT systems simultaneously.
