DescriptionPOSITION SUMMARY:
The Warehouser isresponsible for logistics shipping and receiving of goods. Follows established procedures and guidelines to receive handle store record and dispatch goods in a store or warehouse.
ResponsibilitiesESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Work in a multi-BU environment supporting customers across all Divisions
- Receive and unload incoming goods.
- Visual control of any transport damages and for discrepancies between goods and invoices.
- Accurately sort label and store goods in appropriate locations; arrange storage to optimize warehouse space.
- Pick outgoing goods according to written or verbal requests or orders.
- Pack goodsaccording to ADR standards.
- Load goods onto forwarding truck; observe load securing of goods.
- Observe personal protective equipment and vehicle equipment of forwarder according to ADR standards.
- Enter data into a database or other computerized system to maintain up-to-date stock records.
- Retrieve stored information to respond to enquiries (for example on inventory levels or delivery schedules).
- Operate forklifts or other warehouse machinery.
- Care and maintenance of warehouse machinery and equipment.
- Housekeeping in warehouse and surrounding area.
Perform other routine clerical activities as required according to the organizations established procedures. These activities may include answering telephones; updating stock cards and inventory records; and completing receipt transfer delivery and dispatch forms.
POSITION CHALLENGES:
- Controls the input and output of products.
QualificationsPOSITION REQUIREMENTS
Formal Education:
- Secondary school level education.
- Vocational qualification.
Knowledge & Experience:
Required: Previous experience in a similar warehouse / shipping role.
Preferred: Safe handling with chemical goods/products.
Technical/skill Requirements:
- Valid Drivers License.
- ADR certificate.
- Forklift Truck License.
