Scope of work

The Cath Lab Nurse under the ANA scope of practice utilizes the framework of the nursing process to provide professional nursing care by incorporating patient-family centered care principles. The Cath Lab Nurse provides quality patient care under the direction of the Nurse Leader according to Beaumont policies and procedures. Working within a multidisplinary team environment demonstrates specialized care within the cath lab and across the cath lab care continuum (Pre/Intra/Post Lab) while using critical thinking and excellent communication.

Qualifications

  • Required Associates Degree Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. Diploma A.D.N. B.S.N. M.S.N. DNP/PhD if not minimum BSN prepared new graduate/nurse with less than one (1) year experience is to sign an educational contract upon hire to complete BSN within specified timeframe and adhere to contract stipulations. RN must enroll in aaccredited BSN program within one (1) year of licensure date and complete within the next four (4) years. This is effective September 1 2017.

  • 1 year of relevant experience Minimum of one (1) year acute care experience. Required

  • Critical Care Cath Lab or Procedural/OR experience. Preferred

  • LIC-Registered Nurse (RN) - STATEMI State of Michigan Upon Hire

  • CRT-Specialty Certification - UNKNOWN Unknown in specialty 2 Yrs

  • CRT-At least one Certification from preferred list - UNKNOWN Unknown Upon Hire

  • CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA American Heart Association Upon Hire required Or

  • CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - ARC American Red Cross Upon Hire

  • CRT-Adv Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) - AHA American Heart Association 180 Days
