Overview
The Educational Technology Teacher will play a key role in developing and implementing the schools digital learning vision across the primary years. This dynamic educator will work collaboratively with teachers to enhance teaching and learning through the effective use of technology strengthen students digital literacy and citizenship skills and ensure technology integration aligns with curriculum goals and international best practices.
Although non-class-based this is an instructional position. The postholder will model lessons co-teach and lead learning experiences to build teacher confidence and capacity in educational technology.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Strategic Support and Collaboration
- Partner with teachers and curriculum leaders to design and implement meaningful technology integration across subjects and units of inquiry.
- Contribute to the continuous development of the schools Digital Learning Strategy ensuring coherence with whole-school goals and values.
- Support the formulation and implementation of policies and practices related to digital citizenship online safety and responsible technology use.
- Collaborate with IT support staff to ensure reliable access to and effective use of educational hardware software and digital platforms.
- Participate in whole-school initiatives that promote innovation digital wellbeing and future-ready learning.
2. Teacher Professional Learning
- Design and deliver engaging professional development workshops and coaching sessions for teachers teaching assistants and other staff.
- Provide in-class support through co-teaching lesson modeling and feedback helping teachers develop confidence in integrating digital tools and pedagogies.
- Curate and share resources examplars and innovative practices in digital learning.
- Support teachers in utilising digital tools for formative assessment providing feedback and facilitating student collaboration.
- Contribute to the schools culture of professional learning through mentoring reflection and knowledge sharing.
3. Student Learning and Support
- Promote and embed digital citizenship education throughout the curriculum to ensure students understand safe ethical and effective use of technology.
- Design and support digital literacy projects that foster creativity problem-solving and collaboration.
- Organise student enrichment opportunities such as coding clubs maker activities or digital challenges.
- Support students in developing age-appropriate competencies in using digital tools research skills and online safety.
4. Curriculum and Innovation
- Collaborate with curriculum teams to map and embed digital learning outcomes across subjects and year levels.
- Stay informed about emerging educational technologies and assess their potential for enhancing teaching and learning.
- Lead pilot projects and initiatives that encourage innovation and creativity in digital learning.
- Support digital aspects of whole-school events showcases or exhibitions of learning or community showcases highlighting student achievement and innovation.
Qualificationsand Experience
- Bachelors degree in Education Technology or related field; postgraduate teaching qualification (e.g. PGCE QTS or equivalent).
- Proven classroom teaching experience with primary-aged students (ages 611).
- Demonstrated expertise in educational technology integration.
- Experience supporting or coaching teachers in technology-enhanced learning preferred.
- International school experience is desirable but not essential
Knowledge and Skills
- Deep understanding of how technology can transform learning and assessment in the primary classroom.
- Familiarity with digital learning frameworks (e.g. ISTE Standards for Students/Educators Common Sense Media Digital Citizenship 4 Shifts Protocol SAMR).
- Proficient in a range of digital learning platforms and tools (e.g. Google Workspace for Education Microsoft 365 Seesaw Apple Classroom iPads coding and robotics tools).
- Strong understanding of digital citizenship online safety and data privacy principles.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; able to inspire and build trust across diverse teams.
- Strong organisational and project management abilities.
- Reflective innovative and committed to continuous improvement and professional growth.
