Position Summary

Responsible for the day to day activities of a multi-state local produce program centered around supporting the towns and cities we serve through Category Merchandising and Pricing (CMP). Coordinate the planning development and execution of the Local Produce program in support of growing local top line sales. Serve as the single point of contact between Produce Category Merchandising and Pricing (CMP) while also supporting both Internal & External partners.

Principle Duties and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the negotiation planning & implementation of locally grown produce program across multi-state operating area in collaboration with multiple category teams internal & external partners.
  • Collaborate with external local produce suppliers/consolidators to provide support for retail operations through various local produce programs across operating areas.
  • Support local produce display planning and ad development within Category Merchandising and Pricing (CMP) as it relates to the strategies and initiatives.
  • Track analyze and report out on weekly ad performance and financial goals.
  • Partners with Category Marketing and Pricing teams to deliver display planning for all key elements of Local Produce Planning and Merchandising.
  • Responsible for developing the weekly local produce communication collaborating with multiple Category teams and Retail Operations.
  • Collaborate with Produce Merchandising teams to deliver weekly communication of local produce merchandising plans & program assortments based on seasonal availability.
  • Conduct regular visits with local produce suppliers retail leaders distribution partners produce merchandising teams and field merchandising teams to best understand and respond to needs/opportunities.
  • Coordinate displaying of local grown season events: i.e. Goodness Grows Local weekly ad flyer wraps.
  • Provide support for motivating peers and function as an effective promoter of change and growth.
  • Responsible for the development talent planning and performance management of self.

Experience

  • 5-8 years combined experience in retail merchandising category pricing logistics supply chain procurement and distribution.
  • Retail Operations experience
  • Merchandising experience
  • Category experience
  • Bachelors Degree or equivalent combination of education and related work experience.

Basic and Specific Qualifications

  • Knowledge of Fresh and/or Center Store categories.
  • Experience in leading projects and influencing consensus.
  • In depth understanding of standard practices and merchandising strategies
  • Mature level of knowledge for company business and industry practices
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite of Programs
  • Master of Business Administration Degree (MBA)

  • 8-10%
