The Role
The Department of Education requires Part-Time Sessional Instructors from December 15 - April 30 2026 to teach on-campus during the winter semester in areas that may include Indigenous Studies and the Profession of Teaching. Instructional duties may include courses in the Bachelor of Education program.

RequirementsThe successful candidate will hold a Masters degree in a related field and have significant experience in teaching or education administration. Instruction and research at the post-secondary level is an asset. Necessary skills and attributes to be successful in this role include:
- Demonstrated success in instruction as well as experience in the Alberta school system including classroom teaching and knowledge of of northern Alberta schoolenvironments is an asset.
- Highly qualified faculty who seek to continuously improve instruction and meet the need of learners.
- Candidates must be able to apply different instructional strategies to meet the needs of students with different learning styles.
- Knowledge of Northwestern Polytechnic courses and current educational technologies commonly found in classrooms (e.g. videoconferencing D2L) are desired.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications such as Word Excel PowerPoint and Outlook.
- Student Focused.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A high level of integrity professionalism and accountability.
- Willingness to work with and support the Centre for Teaching & Learning.
