About the Role
This is a casual position working the equivalent of part-time hours. Scheduled shift times are anytime between 7:00am - 5:30pm for the following dates:
PD Days
- January 30 2026 (CBE & CCSD)
- February 12-13 2026 (CBE & CCSD)
- February 27 2026 (CBE)
- March 9 2026 (CCSD)
- April 24 2026 (CBE & CCSD)
- May 15 2026 (CBE & CCSD)
Spring Break
- March 21-29 2026 (CBE)
- April 7-10 2026 (CCSD)
Note: CBE is the Calgary Board of Education CCSD is the Calgary Catholic School District
We require all candidates to be available for a minimum of one Spring Break and two PD Day programming dates.
All MRU Camps staff are required to provide the following at their own cost prior to commencement:
- Police Information Check and Vulnerable Sector Search (valid within 1 year)
- Standard First Aid (valid within 2 years) and CPR Level C (valid within 1 year).
Responsibilities
- Plan deliver and modify program lessons and activities.
- Ensure safety well-being and enjoyment of campers from ages 6 - 12 years old.
- Make accommodations for campers with varying learning needs.
- Work collaboratively with co-Leaders and Instructors to deliver daily programs.
- Assist camp Leaders with recreational and classroom activities.
- Supervise and coordinate lunchtime before and after care.
- Administrative tasks associated with the program including camper registration incident reports and attendance.
- Attend staff orientation and any necessary staff meetings.
- Communicate professionally with parents and guardians about their childs experience at camp.
Qualifications
- Experience working in a childcare/educational setting delivering lesson plans and curriculum (minimum 1 year).
- Previous experience working or volunteering in camp related or recreational activities is an asset.
- Previous experience with curriculum design and implementation is an asset.
- The ability to work well in a team and individually.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and conflict resolution skills.
- Previous experience in or a passion for Early Childhood Development Education Health and Physical Education and coaching/teaching.
Salary: $18.00 per hour
