Job Summary
The Apple Services Engineering organization is seeking an experienced self-motivated engineering manager with deep expertise in cloud infrastructure and platform successful candidate should have a strong aptitude for both technical leadership and people management with the ability to context-switch between strategic planning and tactical execution. Experience building and scaling teams driving complex cross-functional projects and thriving under pressure are key skills required to succeed in this role. This candidate should be experienced in building strong partnerships mentoring diverse talent and creating an inclusive team culture.
- Proven experience leading backend engineering teams with a focus on infrastructure platform or distributed systems
- 3 years of people management experience with a track record of building and developing high-performing teams
- Strong technical background with hands-on experience in languages such as Java or GoLang
- Deep understanding of large-scale distributed systems and infrastructure platforms
- Experience building and operating mission-critical systems at scale
- Proficiency in database design and management (SQL and NoSQL)
- Familiarity with cloud computing platforms (e.g. AWS Azure Google Cloud)
- Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies (e.g. Docker Kubernetes)
- Knowledge of distributed systems networking concepts and infrastructure as code
- Excellent leadership and communication skills with ability to influence without authority
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a data-driven approach to decision making
- Experience driving technical strategy and roadmap planning
