Position Summary:
As a Surgery Controller youll play a key role in coordinating surgical schedules and ensuring smooth communication between departments physicians and clinical staff. This position requires strong attention to detail multitasking and the ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
What Youll Do:
- Maintain accurate daily and future surgery schedules
- Coordinate with anesthesia charge nurses and physician offices for scheduling and updates
- Compile call schedules and assist with high-volume phone communications
- Relay time-sensitive information to staff departments and vendors
- Notify staff of early starts and assignment changes
- Communicate equipment and supply needs for special procedures
- Ensure schedules align with staffing equipment and supply availability
- Support departmental flow and problem-solving across units
What Youll Need:
- High School Diploma required; Medical Office Administration Certificate or higher preferred
- 2 years of experience in surgery scheduling or acute care setting preferred
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology and computer systems
- Excellent organizational communication and time management skills
- Ability to remain professional and composed in high-pressure situations
