THE ROLE & THE TEAM

Finding clothes that truly fit is one of the biggest challenges in e-commerce fashion and the Size & Fit team is on a mission to address it. We create game-changing solutions that help Zalandos 50 million customers find the right fit through innovation science and by delivering great customer experiences. Our aim is to close the gap between textile manufacturers and customers because the magic happens when comprehensive fashion assortment knowledge meets deep customer understanding. Our multidisciplinary team brings together applied scientists engineers product managers designers analysts business developers and fashion experts working across Berlin and Zurich.

In your Zurich-based role as a 3D Designer you will focus on our exciting Virtual Fitting Room experience. Youll leverage your creativity and craft to enable customers to try on garments through personalized avatars making their online shopping experience more inspiring and reflective of a physical experience. Working closely with engineers product managers fashion experts and other disciplines youll ensure the quality and scalability of our 3D garment simulations while continuously improving how we work and deliver. Your contributions will empower millions of customers to confidently choose the right fit and return fewer purchases. • You will contribute to the development of Zalandos Virtual Fitting Room helping customers create personalized avatars and experience try-ons in 3D space.

• You will design and iterate on avatars working on personalization aspects such as body shapes hair skin tone poses and animations to make them feel natural and representative of our customers.

• You will explore and improve the virtual room rethinking elements like layout lighting and branding opportunities to make the experience more engaging and consistent.

• You will collaborate with engineers to enhance the 3D garment simulation quality realism and scalability across clothing categories. You will refine garment fit and movement on avatars evaluate visual and fit standards as well as define what should and shouldnt be shown to customers.

• You will contribute to the 3D design pipeline from retouching and checking 3D scans to documenting and standardizing best practices. You will help develop clear easy-to-follow guidelines that raise the quality and consistency of our Virtual Fitting Room experience.

• You will collaborate cross-location with the Zalando design community contributing to best practices and learning from colleagues with occasional travel to Berlin for on-site exchange.

Collaboration & Mindset

• Strong communication skills to engage both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Image Post-Processing

• Basic to intermediate skills in common image post-processing tools (e.g. Photoshop) with a demonstrated willingness to learn and develop new skills.

3D Modeling & Asset Creation

• Strong skills in 3D modeling with industry-standard software (Blender preferred; ZBrush 3ds Max Cinema 4D or Maya).

• Solid grasp of the full 3D asset workflow from modeling rigging UV mapping texturing lighting animation and rendering.

• Ability to balance realism and performance for interactive real-time applications.

3D Character & Environment Creation

• Experience designing 3D characters including personalization posing garment interaction and animation.

• Ability to create simple high-quality 3D environments that enhance product visualization.

Virtual Fashion Design

• Familiarity with CLO3D or Browzwear is preferred would be required to learn on the job

• Understanding of garment design simulation and size grading; fashion industry experience is a plus.
