Job Summary
The City of Chaska has multiple Commission openings beginning January 2026 with a three-year term of service. These are volunteer positions. Note: Student Positions are for 1 (one) year only.
Commissions openings:
- Planning Commission 4 open positions
- Park and Recreation Board 3 open positions
- 1 of the above 3 positions is a student age 16-20 for a 1 (one) year term
- Human Rights Commission 4 open positions
- 1 of the above 4 positions is a student age 16-20 for a 1 (one) year term
- Heritage Preservation 3 open positions
Time Commitment:Each commission meets monthly in the evening. Meetings are approximately 2 hours long. Below are the typical days each commission meets:- Planning Commission 2nd Wednesday of the month
- Parks and Recreation Commission 2nd Tuesday of the month
- Human Rights Commission 4th Thursday of the month
- Heritage Preservation Commission 1st Tuesday of the month
The Process:
Step 1:Check if you are eligible- Do you live in Chaska If yes then you are eligible to apply.
Step 2: Apply!- Click the apply button in the top right corner. The application process is simple and quick. The deadline for applications is December 12 2025.
Step 3:Notifications- Applicants will be contacted shortly after December 12th to schedule an interview.
Step 4:Interview with the Chaska City Council- Council will conduct interviews (in-person and/or Zoom) with selected candidates. The tentative dates for interviews will be at the Council meetings on January 26th and February 2nd.These interviews will only take approximately 10 minutes. The Council will make selections after these interviews are concluded.
Reappointments:
When your position term ends you may apply for reappointment. Follow the same application process as if youre a new applicant.
