Roles and Responsibilities
-Demonstrates team leadership experience leading & coordinating design teams coordinating design efforts across disciplines both internal and external and including consultants and subcontractors. Drives customer submittals on time and on budget through timely reviews and coordination with the lead engineer. Anticipates and mitigates delivery issues and recommend changes.
-Analyses customer technical requirements and ensures compliance to customer requirements. Ensures traceability from customer requirements to design/equipment specifications
-Establishes based on tender and contract analysis the civil design project strategy and the list of documents/studies to produce
-Manage technical interface with sub suppliers & partners prepare input data and check consistency. Request and lead technical coordination meetings with partners or key suppliers if & when appropriate. The civil project engineer is the technical contact with customer civil engineering teams especially for efficiently resolving technical and field issues.
-Drives business direction through technical knowledge. Drives team to provide customers with the best solutions that positively impact business. Validates technical options proposed to the customer and provides for cost optimization in all design. Serves as chief reviewer of technical output & solves technical conflicts.
-Provides and attends cross discipline reviews & technical training to promote interdisciplinary interaction
-Resource planning and leveling for a team of civil engineers
-Must assist project managers with estimates budgets schedules and quality control for civil & structural activities during design and construction phases. Highlights scope or design changes (data for claims COs). Informs Project Lead Engineer of design issues all along project execution and propose range of solutions for decision; follow solutions agreed up to resolution. Updates risk assessment related to engineering & applies mitigation plan when required
Required Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from an accredited university or college
Ten (10) years minimum experience in relevant area of expertise
Licensed as a civil/structural Professional Engineer in the United States & ability to get a licenses in other states via reciprocity.
