Job Summary
what you will do:
- Design PCBA hardware solutions including schematic and PCB layout and perform prototype debugging; deliver complete documentation (BOM Gerber test specifications).
- Develop analog/digital interface circuits and power supply solutions (custom design or module selection) supporting RS485/CAN/UART communication.
- Conduct worst-case and reliability analysis; lead issue identification corrective actions and closure.
- Participate in hardware design for thermostat or panel products collaborating with mechanical software testing teams and suppliers for full product delivery.
- Understand plastic enclosure tooling and injection molding processes; provide DFM/DFA recommendations and support mold trial issue resolution.
- Manage compliance and certification processes (UL CE FCC EMC ESD) and implement corrective measures.
- Drive project milestones and schedule control from requirements input through EVT/DVT/PVT to mass production (MP).
- Coordinate with procurement and quality teams to manage supplier lead times and quality; contribute to BOM cost optimization.
- Utilize Altium Designer or Mentor tools for schematic and PCB layout; maintain ECR/ECO and version control.
What we want:
- Bachelors degree or above in Electronics Electrical Engineering or related fields; 5 years of hardware development experience.
- Experience with thermostats indoor panels or similar products preferred; HVAC knowledge is a plus.
- Proficient in Altium Designer or Mentor tools; familiar with Renesas STM32 TI DSP controllers.
- Power electronics design/debugging experience preferred; strong knowledge of EMC/ESD/surge testing and mitigation.
- Understanding of plastic part tooling/injection molding and surface treatment; able to collaborate effectively with mechanical engineers.
- Strong project management and cross-functional collaboration skills; excellent communication and documentation abilities.
Preferred Skills
- Hands-on experience with RS485/Modbus BACnet Ethernet in building control or HVAC applications.
- Knowledge of DFM/DFA safety clearance design thermal design and reliability testing.
- Familiarity with simulation/analysis tools such as LTspice PI Expert HyperLynx.
