Function: To develop a comprehensive individualized educational program for students who are assigned for case management. Implement academic and behavioral programs within one content/subject area for which highly qualified status exists. Promote inclusion initiatives consistent with Woonsocket High School goals. Duties and Responsibilities:Provide a basic core program for identified students consistent with state education requirements and students and implement IEP goals and objectives based on evaluation the learning process toward the achievement of curriculum goals and in harmony with the goals establish clear objectives for all lessons units and projects in order to communicate these objectives to the instructional methods and materials that are deemed appropriate for accomplishing stated the accomplishments of students on a regular basis and provides progress reports as the administration in implementing all policies and/or rules governing student conduct and for the classroom develop responsible rules of classroom behavior and procedures and maintain order in the classroom environment in a fair and just and supervises purposeful assignments of teacher assistant(s).Provide social skills training for students in conjunction with goals and objectives in the IEP to assist students in forming positive relationships with peers and placement in least restrictive environment in a timely fashion to building principal/IEP Team/ET case-manager/Director of Special Education in accordance with state regulations with peers and instruction in all areas of the students academic strengths and and scores educational evaluations or appropriate special education with administrators teachers and parents regarding student and/or in eligibility team meetings and IEP meetings when appropriate materials to enable the student to realize goals and objectives stated in the coordinate and supervise other special education services being provided to frequently with parents and professional staff members regarding the educational social and adjustment problems of the other professional staff in resolving the unique educational psychological and/or discipline needs of the student and/or parents in making realistic assessment of the students abilities and in establishing educational and occupational goals in keeping with those motivation to students who have difficulty attending in the classroom and/or who have difficulty engaging themselves in educationally related professional competence through in-service education activities provided by the Woonsocket Education Department and/or self-selected professional growth accurate records for state to policies of confidentiality and uses discretion regarding pupil communicate with outside agencies which are providing services to the student and/or to research available student in and conduct staff development monitor and evaluate curriculum in an on-going recommendations for supplies equipment and responsibility for building duties as other duties as assigned by the Special Education Director or building principal.Qualifications:RIDE Certification 9-12 Special Education or willing to obtain an emergency certificationScience Certification 9-12 preferredPrevious experience as a Special EducatorStrong background in teaching science
