How will you make an impact

Thermo Fishers Single Use Technology Division focusing on providing bioprocessing solutions with emphasis on single-use technologies enabling rapid progress an innovation for the biopharmaceutical industry.

We are seeking a motivated individual to fill the role of R&D Engineer Mechanical. As a member of the Single-use divisions R&D team you will be involved in developing equipment and systems employed by manufacturers of biological-based therapeutics and vaccines in the industry.

What will you do

  • Translate customers wants into new product designs through an iterative process.
  • Collaborate with multi-functional teams including software engineers hardware engineers and project managers to define system requirements and specifications.
  • Develop and maintain system architectures models and documentation to optimally communicate system design and functionality.
  • Identify safe and robust (regulatory mindful) components and perform associated testing.
  • Detect and address technical issues and challenges throughout the system development lifecycle.
  • Update and maintain current product drawings and components as needed.

How you will get here:

Education

  • Bachelors degree in mechanical engineering with 0-2 years experience.

Knowledge Skills Abilities

  • Proficiency in CAD design software; SolidWorks Pro/e or equivalent.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate with customers
  • Good technical writing skills to produce reports and documents.
  • Self-motivated and willing to take clear ownership of work.
  • Ability to identify and resolve issues with strong problem-solving skills
