Leisure & Lifestyle Officer

Reporting directly to the Manager Aged Care (SJNH) the Leisure and Lifestyle Officer will drive the engagement and participation of residents into a range of social recreational and cultural activities. You will be involved in planning organising and implementing these activities both as a team member and individually depending on the activity.

To be successful applicants will need to possess the following:

• Delivering recreation activities to our residents and actively support them to maintain their physical intellectual emotional cultural and social wellbeing.
• Assessments reviews and ongoing evaluation of the lifestyle program to ensure positive client outcomes and support ongoing education and improvements in accordance with the Aged Care Quality Standards
• Encouraging our clients to attend the program
• Strong ability to develop lifestyle care plans
• Knowledge of Aged Care National Quality Standards
• Ability to work collaboratively within a team as well as the confidence to work independently
• Certificate IV in Lifestyle and Leisure (or equivalent) is desirable

St Josephs Nursing Home (SJNH) Lismore is a 130 bed Accredited Aged Care Facility owned and operated by the Trustees of the Roman Catholic Church Diocese of Lismore since 1936. St. Josephs is located on the grounds of St Vincents Private Hospital . The facility specialises in high care services for the frail aged palliative care and residents living with dementia.
