Job Summary

The Western Maine Regional Program for Children with Exceptionalities (WMRPCE) is a public regional special education program seeking dynamic collaborative and creative special education Ed Tech II or IIIs in both of our social emotional behavior programs at our Oxford Maine (7-12) site. Students in this type of program have a wide variety of academic functional and developmental needs that must be addressed in ways that foster student development and growth.

Successful candidates will:

  • Be student centered
  • Be energetic and enthusiastic about supporting students
  • Have experience building positive relationships with students and supporting student success
  • Collaborate and communicate effectively with other educators
  • Be Safety Care trained or willing to be trained
  • Work successfully with a collaborative educational team
  • Accurately collect student data and record data on a computer
  • Hold a current Educational Technician II or III Authorization and a current Criminal History Records Check (CHRC) from Maine Department of Education

Qualifications:

  • Enjoy working with students and supporting teachers to achieve goals and objectives for each individual student
  • Work 1:1 or with small groups of students to implement goals/objectives of the Individual Education Programs with academic vocational daily living and/or study skills
  • Introduce new learning pre-planned in consultation with the teacher
  • Implement positive behavior support plans of students as needed
  • Strong skills in communication organization and interpersonal relations
  • Must have flexibility and creative problem-solving ability
  • Have knowledge of the curriculum appropriate to job assignment
  • Must meet Maine Educational Technician III requirements and preferably coursework in education and experience working with children experience working with children with disabilities
