Job Summary:
The Software Safety Engineer will design and develop the Software Integrity Manager (SWIM) a web-based application for capturing and managing compliance data against software safety standards such as DO-178C and IEC 61508. This role requires strong software development skills (preferably Java) and the ability to collaborate with stakeholders to deliver a reliable user-friendly and standards-compliant solution.
Responsibilities:
Design and develop the SWIM web application (backend and frontend).
Collaborate with UK SMEs to define architecture and requirements.
Implement phased workflows aligned with safety lifecycle stages.
Ensure compliance with safety-critical standards (DO-178C IEC 61508).
Develop database integration reporting and export functionality.
Host and maintain the application in secure environments.
Provide documentation compliance evidence and user support.
Must-have Skills:
3 years of experience in software development.
Proficiency in at least one of: C C Java (preferred) Python Rust.
Experience with web application development (server-side and client-side).
Knowledge of databases and data integration.
Strong teamwork communication and problem-solving skills.
Nice-to-have Skills:
Familiarity with safety standards (DO-178C IEC 61508).
Experience with requirements management tools (Polarion DOORS).
Knowledge of secure hosting environments.
Experience with scripting (Python Bash).
Languages & Mobility:
English mandatory;
French nice to have
Mobility: Occasional travel to the UK for workshops and reviews.
