Join Sunshine Homecare as a Substitute School Nurse
At Sunshine Home Health Services we understand the vital role that school nurses play in keeping students safe and healthy. We are seeking New Jersey Stateapproved Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) to serve as School Nurses in Northern New Jersey.
This role is ideal for compassionate skilled nurses who can step in to provide continuity of care when the regular school nurse is unavailable.
Your Role as School Nurse
- Provide direct health services to students and staff in a school-based environment.
- Monitor and respond to student health concerns including first aid chronic condition management and medication administration.
- Maintain accurate health records and ensure compliance with school health policies.
- Act as a vital health resource and advocate for students and families.
- Communicate effectively with school staff parents and Sunshine Homecare to ensure seamless continuity of care.
The Ideal Candidate:
- Active New Jersey Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) License
- At least 1 year of nursing experience (school pediatric or community-based setting preferred)
- BLS Certification required
- Knowledge of pediatric health needs chronic conditions (e.g. diabetes asthma allergies) and emergency protocols
- Professional compassionate demeanor and the ability to work independently
- Authorized to work in the U.S.
