Job Summary:
The CT Technologist Float under the general supervision of a Radiologist performs computed tomography (CT) procedures on ambulatory and hospital patients as requested by physicians or other licensed providers. The technologist ensures high-quality imaging for the diagnosis of disease and injury in accordance with established protocols and safety standards. This role may float between various departments or facilities as needed.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform high-quality CT imaging procedures following established protocols and physician orders.
- Prepare patients for procedures explaining the process ensuring comfort and verifying all safety precautions.
- Operate and maintain CT equipment ensuring optimal performance and safety compliance.
- Review and evaluate images for diagnostic quality before submission to the Radiologist.
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation in the electronic medical system.
- Adhere to radiation safety standards and infection control policies.
- Collaborate with physicians nurses and other healthcare professionals to ensure quality patient care.
- Participate in on-call rotation variable shifts and float assignments as required.
Required Qualifications:
Education:
- Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology Program.
Experience:
- Less than 1 Year of Experience.
Certification/Licensure/Registration:
- ARRT-CT (Computed Tomography): Certified by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists in Computed Tomography.
- BLS (Basic Life Support): Must have current BLS certification or obtain within 30 days of hire/transfer.
- MRT (Medical Radiologic Technologist): Licensed by the Texas as a Medical Radiologic Technologist.
- ARRT-R (Radiography) ARRT-N (Nuclear Medicine) or CNMT (Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist): Must also hold one of these certifications in addition to ARRT-CT.
