Job Title: Laboratory Technician
Client: Food Manufacturing Company
Location: Elk River MN 55330
Duration: 7 Months (Possibility of Extension)
Shift: 1st Shift Monday Friday 7:00 AM 3:30 PM
Position Overview
The Laboratory Technician Lv1 will perform routine analytical and laboratory testing in support of the Food Safety Quality and Operations teams. This role involves preparing and testing samples documenting results and ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards. Ideal for candidates seeking hands-on experience in a laboratory environment within the food and feed industry.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct routine quantitative and qualitative tests on raw materials in-process and final products.
- Prepare samples including weighing and grinding for analytical testing.
- Perform tests such as ash forced air moisture and vacuum moisture.
- Monitor and maintain instrumentation performance including calibration and preventive maintenance.
- Accurately record and report test results in databases and communicate findings to internal teams.
- Ensure adherence to food safety quality and regulatory standards.
- Support laboratory documentation administrative tasks and safety compliance activities.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelors degree not required.
- Coursework or lab experience through education is sufficient (entry-level welcome).
- Strong attention to detail organizational skills and ability to follow standard lab procedures.
- Basic computer skills for data entry and reporting.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work both independently and in a team.
Additional Information
- This role supports the Wet Chemistry Team within the animal nutrition division.
- Must successfully pass a background check and drug test prior to start.
- Hands-on training provided with intermediate supervision.
