As a Locum MD or DO you will play a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care in hematology and oncology. Your expertise will contribute to our mission of connecting healthcare providers with vital roles while ensuring that patients receive the attention and treatment they deserve.
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive patient assessments and evaluations in hematology and oncology
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient care
- Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records
- Educate patients and their families on treatment options and care plans
- Participate in clinical meetings and case discussions
- Stay current with advancements in hematology and oncology
Requirements
- MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school
- Valid medical license to practice in the state
- Associate-level experience in hematology and oncology
- Strong clinical skills and a compassionate approach to patient care
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team
- Commitment to continuous professional development
- Knowledge of current best practices in hematology and oncology
- Schedule: Monday-Thursday 7:30a-5:30p
- Call: Weeknight and 24-hour weekend call shifts
Setting: Outpatient chemotherapy and infusion center
Patient Volume: 15-21 per day split between MD and NP
Duties: All aspects of diagnosis staging precision medicine symptom management and treatment of hematology oncology patients
Infusion Center Services: Chemotherapy immunotherapy blood/platelet transfusions hormone therapy antibiotic therapy rheumatoid arthritis injections andtherapeutic phlebotomies
Support Staff: NP RNs MAs front office clerks
EMR: iKnowMed and Cerner
Must be board-certified or board-eligible
