Key responsibilities
Financial reporting and analysis: Prepare review and analyze monthly quarterly and annual financial statements and reports.
General ledger and reconciliation: Manage and maintain the general ledger oversee account reconciliations and review journal entries.
Budgeting and forecasting: Assist with the development and monitoring of budgets and financial forecasts.
Compliance and audits: Ensure compliance with accounting standards like GAAP support internal and external audits and assist with tax audits and returns.
Process improvement: Develop and improve accounting processes and internal controls to enhance efficiency.
Team leadership: Train mentor and supervise junior accounting staff.
Financial transactions: Oversee accounts payable and receivable and review inter-company transactions.
Required skills and qualifications
Bachelors degree in accounting or a related field; a masters degree or CPA is often preferred.
Thorough knowledge of basic accounting procedures and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
Strong analytical problem-solving and attention-to-detail skills.
Advanced proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Excel (e.g. Pivot Tables VLOOKUPs).
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Required Skills:
Work experience as an Accountant. Excellent knowledge of accounting regulations and procedures including the Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) Hands-on experience with accounting software like FreshBooks and QuickBooks. Advanced MS Excel skills including Vlookups and pivot tables.
