Your role and responsibilities

You will be working within the team responsible for the inspection maintenance and construction of highway structures working in collaboration with the Highway Services Contractor and their supply chain team is responsible for inspecting and assessing a wide range of structures throughout the County and for prioritising developing and implementing maintenance and strengthening works required to ensure that structures remain safe for use and fit for purpose. The work requires collaboration with a wide range of other teams and organisations both internal and external to ensure the successful delivery of the addition to taking personal responsibility for your own work the role also involves guiding and supporting other technicians and colleagues working alongside you.

You will need

1. Level 5 qualification in civil engineering (e.g. FdSc).
2. Experience in successfully delivering a range of structural inspection maintenance and strengthening projects.
3. Experience and preferably ability in a range of structural analysis techniques the use/interpretation of structural codes and standards and construction materials and practices.
4. Experience of relevant health and safety legislation and codes of practice (including the CDM Regulations 2015).
5. Ability to plan prioritise and manage own workload on a day-by-day basis to meet timescales and budgets.
6. Good communication skills (in person and in writing) with an abilityto build relationships and interact effectively with stakeholders.
