Job Summary

DISCLAIMER

The aim of this Roster Call is to update the pool of experts available for temporary consultancy assignments in the field of graphic design with an expected total duration of up to 180 working days within one calendar year depending on specific needs and activities.


Background

The Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) is the worlds largest regional security organization with a comprehensive approach to security encompassing politico-military economic and environmental and human dimensions. It therefore addresses a wide range of security-related concerns including arms control confidence and security-building measures human rights national minorities democratization policing strategies counterterrorism and economic and environmental activities. All 57 participating States enjoy equal status and decisions are taken by consensus on a politically but not legally binding basis.

The OSCE Secretariat in Vienna assists the Chairpersonship in its activities and provides operational and administrative support to the field operations and as appropriate to other institutions. The Office of the Co-ordinator of OSCE Economic and Environmental Activities (OCEEA) and its Economic Governance Unit (EGU) in particular promotes economic prosperity good governance and co-operation among participating States to foster peace security and stability.

On an ad-hoc basis the OCEEA/EGU engages external experts to carry out a variety of short-term assignments. These experts support the Office in communicating promoting and raising awareness of the results and impact of its projects and activities among internal and external audiences including participating States donors international organizations and the general public.


Objective of Assignment:

The objective of this roster call is to invite qualified evaluators to join the OSCE roster of evaluation consultants for OIO led independent evaluations and decentralized evaluations.


Deliverables:

To be further defined within each individual contract


Duration of Assignment:

This is a roster call. Duration of the assignment depends on the tasks and deliverables assigned.


Tasks and responsibilities:

Under the overall guidance of the Senior Economic Officer and in close co-ordination with the Economic Governance Unit (EGU) the International Consultant/Expert will be responsible for one or more of the following assignments:

  1. Producing visual inputs for website and other social media (static and animated graphics etc.);
  2. Conceptualizing graphic design of OCEEA/EGU related publications (factsheets handbooks newsletters roll-ups PPT presentations booklets etc.) single info-graphic (static);
  3. Developing layout of various printed material (handbooks newsletters booklets etc.) to be ready for online publication and printing.


Necessary Skills and Qualifications:

  • Minimum 7 years of work experience in graphic design logo and corporate identity design;
  • First-level degree in visual communication graphic design or related field or equivalent combination of work experience and education;
  • Excellent graphic design and logo/corporate identity design skills as demonstrated by an extensive portfolio;
  • Expert knowledge of graphics and visualization tools such as Adobe CS Suite including Illustrator Photoshop and other industry standard design tools;
  • Knowledge of OSCE Editorial Style Guide for Publications and Visual Identity Guidelines is an asset;
  • Demonstrated gender awareness and sensitivity and an ability to integrate a gender perspective into tasks and
    activities;
  • Professional fluency in the English language;

Remuneration Package:

Remuneration will be based on the selected consultants/experts qualifications experience the tasks and deliverables for this position and in accordance with the OSCE established rates.
