PacAeros core businesses include an array of electronic connectors and housings for the worlds most extreme environments. PacAero is primarily located in Wenatchee WA with a remote manufacturing site Bonded Metals located in Sequim WA. Working together we employ proprietary technologies best practices engineering and specialized manufacturing techniques to produce hermetic connectors and electronic packaging that perform in the worlds most extreme environments. PacAeros products are hard at work in medical components such as cardiac-function devices on key aerospace & defense programs in space and deep below the earths surface.


Job Summary

Working under general supervision Machinist I is responsible for setting up and operating manual or CNC machines to produce precision parts according to specifications. The role involves monitoring machine processes performing measurements and inspections to ensure product quality and adhering to safety and production standards. This position requires basic knowledge of machining practices and the ability to follow technical instructions and blueprints.


Schedule: Must be willing to work one of the following schedules decided at hire. First couple months will train on Day shift.

  • Day Shift 4x10: Monday through Thursday 5:00am to 3:30pm.
  • Night Shift 4x10: Monday through Thursday 3:15pm to 1:45am; Includes a $2/hr Shift premium. (Will train on Day Shift 1-2 months at start)
  • Weekend Day Shift 3x12: Friday through Sunday 5:00am to 6:00pm (earlier leave time if waiving 2nd lunch); Includes a $2/hr Shift premium. Includes 4 stock hours to round up to a 40 hour work week.
  • Weekend Night Shift 3x12: Friday through Sunday 5:00pm to 6:00am (earlier leave time if waiving 2nd lunch); Includes a $2/hr Shift premium. Includes 4 stock hours to round up to a 40 hour work week.


Primary Responsibilities

  • Work cooperatively with all employees.
  • Willingness to adapt work schedule to company needs.
  • Consistently at work and on time.
  • Following company handbook policy and companies cell phone policy.
  • Perform other miscellaneous duties as assigned.
  • Observe safety regulations and follow protective equipment requirements. Report hazardous observations to your lead or supervisor.
  • Must be able to retain information and show continued progression towards a level II machinist role.

Level I Machinist Responsibilities

  • Run production parts learn to set-up as ran quick change jobs. Be able to change and dial in new tools make and understand tool and fixture offset adjustments.
  • Perform initial quality inspections on materials and finished parts using precision measuring instruments to verify dimensions and tolerances.
  • Capable of maintaining a consistent high-quality level of deburr and visual inspection.
  • Capable of performing basic shop math for calculating dimensions.
  • Download CNC programs set up/cut fixtures and tooling on machines and set tool offsets. Dial in part for a first part buy-off. Follow all shop paperwork processes and best practices.
  • Read and interpret work order steps blueprints and specifications to understand the requirements for each job.
  • Load raw materials and finished parts into machines (up to 50lbs).
  • Maintain logs of production and quality data as required. Ex: run sheets and inspection routines.
  • Keep the work area tools and equipment clean and organized.
  • Identifying and escalating any operational issues to lead or supervisor.

Education/Previous Experience Requirements

  • High School graduate or equivalent.
  • Minimum 1 years of machining experience

Work Environment

  • Noise: Machine shop can often be a loud environment with constant noise from equipment requiring mandatory hearing protection.
  • Safety hazards: Machinists are exposed to inherent risks from powerful high-speed equipment including moving parts and sharp tools. Safety protocols are critical to prevent injuries.
  • Contaminants: The work involves exposure to airborne particles like metal dust coolant mist and chemical fumes necessitating adequate ventilation and protective measures to minimize health risks.
  • Protective gear: Personal protective equipment (PPE) is a requirement for safety. This includes safety glasses and hearing protection.
  • Shift work: Must be flexible to work any of the following shifts: M-Th 5am-3:30pm M-Th 3:15pm-1:45am Fri-Sun 5am-6pm and Fri-Sun 5pm-6am.

Physical Requirements:

  • Standing: Machinists spend long hours on their feet operating and monitoring machines on the shop floor.
  • Lifting: The job often requires lifting and moving heavy parts or raw materials. Some roles may involve moving objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Manual dexterity: Fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination are necessary for manipulating tools setting up machines and performing precise measurements.
  • Repetitive motion: Many tasks such as loading and unloading workpieces deburring parts inspecting parts are repetitive and can potentially lead to musculoskeletal issues over time.
  • Precision and vision: Machinists must have excellent close-up vision depth perception and the ability to distinguish colors to accurately read blueprints inspect finished products and use measuring instruments.
  • Stamina: Physical stamina is required for the duration of a shift to perform duties like loading materials monitoring machinery and conducting quality control checks.
