Your Opportunity:

As a Buyer II or III for Greenheck Group you will purchase parts and materials as needed to support Greenheck Groups manufacturing schedule at the lowest cost from quality vendor partners. Responsibilities include assisting in identifying alternate sources communicating new developments and techniques negotiating contracts and managing the purchasing process.

What youll be doing:

  • Procure materials and/or component parts in a timely manner create purchase orders (POs) within the ERP

  • System (SAP) and schedule daily deliveries to meet the companys production schedule.

  • Review SAP reports/messages to identify potential material exceptions. Communicate & work with suppliers and associated plants to resolve/mitigate shortages.

  • Maintain quality standards and resolve problems related to unsatisfactory materials received.

  • Support and participate in continuous improvement efforts.

  • Participate in value engineering projects.

  • Maintain SAP Master Data as needed to ensure MRP drives PO release to meet the companys production schedule.

  • Participate in the negotiation of suppliers/categories assigned to the Buyer desk. This includes pricing packaging/shipping identifying potential suppliers contract terms quality and all other aspects of the procurement program.

  • Meet with suppliers to negotiate favorable pricing and build long-term partnerships. Including accountability for acknowledging daily purchase order confirmations from suppliers and proactively sharing any discrepancies with the appropriate teams.

  • Coordinate with production scheduling sales and engineering departments to obtain information resolve problems and identify purchasing requirements for new or redesigned products.

  • Assist in the identification and development of alternate sources of supply for key parts and materials.

  • Assist with communicating new developments in material equipment and techniques with other departments

  • Handle moderately complex issues and problems and refer more complex issues to higher-level staff.

What you should have:

  • 2 - 6 years of relevant work experience in procurement/buying required.

  • 2 Year / associate degree or equivalent years of job experience required.

  • 4 Year / bachelors degree preferred.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word Excel Outlook) with an understanding of ERP/SAP system processes.

A few things you should know:

  • Once fully trained10% travel will be required for this role.

  • Will work on-site in Schofield WI or Knoxville TN.

  • Wisconsin candidates must be willing to relocate to Knoxville TN within 6 to 18 months of being hired.

  • Candidates in Tennessee must be willing to travel to Wisconsin once a month to train with the team.
