Join us as a Fitter/Welder in our Timaru based workshop!
Due to the expansion of our operations we have an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated and experienced Fitter/Welder to join our Timaru team. We are seeking a versatile individual who takes pride in delivering quality service and outstanding results. As a Fitter/Welder you will produce parts or tools fit and assemble them as needed and complete any other fitting/welding works as set by your manager.
In addition to the above you will:
- Complete various project works/new equipment builds (including in-house design)
- Carry out repairs and maintenance of equipment
- Provide support to on-site crews and their equipment (including fabrication diagnostics and maintenance)

Were looking for someone with:
- Relevant industry experience preferably within the transport sector
- Trade Qualification in Mechanical Engineering (Fitting & Machining)
- Full Class 1 licence (Class 2 is advantageous)
- Skills in on-site repairs and maintenance of fixed and mobile plant equipment
- Experience in maintaining and repairing crushing and asphalt plants.
- Experience in truck and trailer body builds and repairs.
- Competent in reading & interpreting engineering drawings
- Ability to problem solve in a fast-paced environment
- A proactive approach to Health and Safety - its our #1 priority
- Good Interpersonal and communication skills
- A positive can-do attitude willingness to learn new skills and most importantly a good sense of humour
