Job Summary

The EHS Co-op will support the Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) team by assisting with inspections compliance programs risk assessments and safety initiatives. This position provides hands-on experience in workplace safety environmental compliance and regulatory training development. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented organized and eager to learn in a fast-paced manufacturing/operations environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct Risk Assessments to identify potential hazards and recommend corrective actions (Primary).
  • Review and update Job Safety Analysis (JSAs) (Primary)
  • Perform Environmental Daily Weekly and Monthly Inspections to ensure compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain organization in the OSS Room including marking labeling and managing drums according to waste streams.
  • Assist with updating and creating GHS labels for products.
  • Support the Safety Data Sheet (SDS) Program including updating and maintaining SDSs.
  • Use Compliance Quest to document track and follow up on safety and environmental activities.
  • Provide support with Workers Compensation case management including tracking reporting and follow-up.
  • Assist in incident and injury investigations documenting findings and helping to implement corrective actions.
  • Participate in the Safety Sign-Off Program ensuring employees are properly trained and verified for specific tasks.
  • Contribute to the development of regulatory training creating content and supporting training delivery.

Qualifications :

  • Must be enrolled as a full-time student at an accredited college.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Effective communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word Excel PowerPoint).
  • Interest in regulatory compliance safety and environmental sustainability.

DESIRED EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE / SKILLS:

  • Pursuing a degree in Environmental Science Occupational Safety Industrial Hygiene Engineering or a related field.
  • 1.5 years of remaining undergraduate studies.
  • Work at least 12 hours per week while school is in session.
  • Flexible work schedule to work around school schedule
  • Ability to flex up to 40 hours per week when school is not in session.
